CASTO, one of the country’s leading real estate services firm, announced the purchase of 45.5 acres of land from NewSpring Church, located at the intersection of Tiger Blvd. and Pendleton Road, at the western entrance of Clemson University, one of the country’s top 20 public universities. NewSpring Church was represented by Broadstreet Partners. CASTO plans to create a mixed-use development consisting of 300,000 square feet, named Hartwell Village. Hartwell Village will be the first power retail center located in the Clemson market area and will contain new-to-the-market tenants, including a theater, restaurants and national retail tenants. “Located on the shores of Lake Hartwell and situated near the border of Pickens and Oconee Counties, Hartwell Village will draw customers from five underserved counties in South Carolina, as well as north Georgia,” stated Shannon Dixon, Executive Vice President of Development for CASTO’s Southeast operations. Anticipated timing includes the opening of NewSpring Church’s Clemson campus to be completed in the Fall of 2016, with the mixed use development to occur in 2016/2017.
